Surrogacy
Helping you build your family with compassion, professionalism, and expert guidance.
Surrogacy is a family-building option for individuals and couples who are unable to carry a pregnancy themselves. It involves a gestational carrier who agrees to carry and deliver a baby on behalf of the intended parent or parents. The embryo is created through IVF using the eggs and sperm of the intended parents or donors.
Our Queens fertility center provides full support throughout the surrogacy journey. We work with trusted surrogacy agencies, legal professionals, and psychologists to ensure a safe, ethical, and emotionally supported process for all parties involved. We welcome all individuals and couples into our program, including LGBTQ+ families, cancer survivors, and those with medical conditions that prevent pregnancy.
Surrogacy is a life-changing path that requires careful planning, trust, and teamwork. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way.
How It Works: Step-by-Step
1. Initial Consultation. You’ll meet with a fertility specialist to discuss your goals, medical background, and whether surrogacy is the right option. We also provide a medical and legal overview of the process.
2. Fertility Preparation and IVF. Eggs and sperm are retrieved from the intended parents or donors. IVF is performed in our lab to create embryos, which are frozen or prepared for transfer.
3. Choosing a Gestational Carrier. We work closely with surrogacy agencies to help match you with a qualified, medically screened gestational carrier who aligns with your values and expectations.
4. Legal Agreements and Counseling. Legal contracts are signed between all parties to define parental rights, responsibilities, and agreements. Mental health professionals may also provide counseling to support everyone involved.
5. Embryo Transfer and Pregnancy Monitoring. A healthy embryo is transferred into the gestational carrier’s uterus. The pregnancy is monitored closely by her OB/GYN, and your fertility team remains involved until the pregnancy is confirmed and progressing well.
6. Birth and Parental Transition. When your baby is born, your legal parental rights are already established. The transition from delivery to your arms is planned carefully to ensure a smooth and joyful experience.
